It’s been one year since my 2014 nursery trends posts & I’m now a proud aunt to my little niece and nephew. I’m one of their biggest fans and can’t get enough time with them…I’ve fallen head over heels for these two. Having helped with two nurseries in 2014, I’m so excited for the upcoming trends for nurseries in 2015, so let’s take a look!
Something Old
It’s no surprise to see pastels in baby clothing and decor—it’s classic. But this year it’s not only classic, it’s trendy! That’s right, especially for little girls, we are loving rosy, blushy pinks and lavender or light purples. Baby blues with a grey undertone are perfect for your little prince. These cribs from Restoration Hardware are perfect examples of this year’s pastel trend…and don’t you just love that bench?!
Something New
This is my personal prediction: mint is the new color for babies. Not green, not pastel green, not kelly green—MINT! I’ve been mad about this color over the past few years and now I think it’s spreading. What is better than a sweet baby clean and fresh surrounded by beautiful mint hues? This beautiful bedding from Carousel Designs is the perfect shade!
Go For The Gold!
Last year any and all metallics were in. This year, it’s all about the gold. I’m sensing a shift towards copper next year, mark my words! But for this year, check out the gold ceiling treatment from Project Nursery.
Patterns Galore!
You may have noticed a pattern in the last few images. Patterns! Repeating patterns from small, simple shapes to large organic designs are so very in right now. If I had to choose the strongest 2015 nursery trend, it would be patterns. Check out this large floral wall from Liz Marie’s Blog & all the magnificent patterns over at The Boo and the Boy!
Follow the Signs
This has been a growing trend over the past year or so, but it is in full swing this year! There is a piece of wall art for anything you’d like to say. “You are my sunshine.” “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” “Let him sleep, for when he wakes he will move mountains.” These are just a few of my favorites. Check out this lovely from House of Belonging.
Look to the Skies
This is my last and favorite trend this year (aside from the little tents and teepees). I think that everyone should do this—always. Someone was paying attention. Babies love to have things on or suspended from the ceilings. You would too if you were laying on your back 90% of the time! Flags, flowers, painted patterns, interesting light fixtures, canopies…go crazy with this. Here’s a few of my favorites:
Another favorite from Project Nursery
Oh Restoration Hardware, you are just so lovely in your neutrals…
