Schedule your sewing and quilting projects with this yearly schedule to make sure that all your projects get done on time!

August is here—and I’m already ashamed that I haven’t yet started a Christmas Quilt, or my nephew’s quilt for his birthday (in October!). Somehow, these big events that come around every year surprise us. We then find ourselves up until all hours of the night sewing, ripping out, and mumbling a few select words. Then off to the longarmers to beg a rush job on this particular project! I always think that I’m going to be right on schedule with my projects, but then life gets in the way—every time! Today I’d like to share a few tips with you on when to start quilting and sewing projects so that you meet your deadlines! (Continue reading…)

We decided that updating and maintaining a home wasn’t enough, so we thought we’d add a small human to the mix (make sure to check out our big announcement if you missed it!). (Continue reading…)

Sleeve Board DIY

Your first thought when reading this post might be what the heck is a sleeve board?! That has been the question most of my friends and family have asked me when I get excited about my latest DIY! After a long and daunting hunt for a sturdy antique sleeveboard, I’ve discovered that they all are nasty & will need a little DIY love, so today I present to you How to Clean Up an Old Sleeve Board: (Continue reading…)

Cleaning Apron

Sometimes it’s the simple things in life: a walk outside, a smell that brings back memories, or your own special place. One of my favorite things is sheets fresh off of the line! I love nothing more than my custom made pillowcases, still crisp from the outdoor air.

Making your own pillowcases is a breeze, especially since I’ve got a free pattern for you to use! That’s right, you can (Continue reading…)

This past June, my husband and I took what we’ve deemed our “last hurrah.” We hopped on a plane, and then a train for a total of 18 days. It was something more like a European holiday than an American getaway. We traveled from East to West through the US and then a little South. We caught just a glimpse of this corner of the world & was it lovely!

Eventually, I need to get around to telling you the whole story, but a little sneak peak is what I’ve got for you today: The juxtaposition of seeing the awesome magnitude of God’s handiwork in the world, while considering the intimate engineering going on in my own body was breathtaking and consumed my mind for many hours staring out the train window.

If you missed my big announcement, make sure to check it out before reading on! (Continue reading…)
