Well hello there! Today I want to bring you a post that was inspired by a sweet customer of mine. She’s a newer quilter and had a few questions on how to use ombre fabric (like the fab V & Co Fairy Dust on the cover) in her Christmas quilt. I gladly answered her email and figured since I’ve done the work already, that I’d share with you as well.
Foundation paper piecing has become one of my very favorite techniques for quilting. I love the precision and the freedom that it allows! Ever since discovering how to paper piece with freezer paper (see that tutorial here) I’ve fallen even more deeply in love.
And now, it’s time for the part that almost broke us…but love overcame!

This pattern includes a wild number of sizes…I just couldn’t stop: Pillow, baby, throw, lap, twin, queen, and king (pardon me while I catch my breath!)…and today I want to show you just one more size that I couldn’t resist: the wall hanging.
Now I can’t take full credit on this, one of my incredible pattern testers and friends came up with this layout and size and even wrote out how she did it. So, a big round of applause for my pal, Jeanne.
