Oh, Tannenbaum! | Week 6

I bet you’re reading this post with bells on, because that means you’ve finished your quilt top!!! (insert party emoji)

This week I simply want to inspire you and give you some ideas on quilting and binding this cozy masterpiece!

Edge to Edge Quilting Ideas

I love a good Edge to Edge design…some might call it quilting by check, but I don’t mind! My friend, Karlee Porter, and I picked out a few of our favorites if you needed help choosing. Just click on the patterns below to get a closer look or check out the incredible library with HUNDREDS of other designs!

Wondering what to do once you found a design you love? Simply send the link over to your longarmer and ask if he/she is willing to use it on your quit top…usually, they are open to new designs and are willing to accommodate!

Custom Quilting

I will not pretend to be anything more than a humble piecer! But I have seen some incredible custom work on this pattern by testers and customers – don’t be afraid to go custom on this beauty – there’s a lot of negative space to play with here.

If you want to try your hand at custom, make sure to check out my friend, Karlee’s Grafitti Longarm Quilting Masterclass – it’s an incredible curriculum that will walk you through the entire process.

Binding

Binding used to be my worst enemy! When my beautiful piece came home from the longarmers, I’d dread the hours of hand stitching that were coming my way. But I have recently discovered Big Stitch Binding and can’t wait to get my hands on that quilty goodness when it comes home! Quilt Labels

I am constantly being scolded or scolding myself for skipping this step! Make sure to always label your quilts! You worked hard on this piece and should get credit for it no matter where it lands.
