I’ve been wanting to create a cape or wrap pattern for a while now, but I couldn’t ever find the perfect fabric. One day while strolling through Jo-Ann, I stumbled across this knit fleece and fell in love. I’m not sure how I’ve never seen this fabric before, but I’m all over it now! There are a lot of different fabrics that you could use for this, such as wool, cotton knit, plaid boucle, even fleece or flannel. Fleece would make this an incredibly quick pattern, and you wouldn’t even have to sew the edges. They could stay plain or you could embroider the edges with a fun stitch!
My pattern includes all the directions you’ll need to make this gorgeous wrap, cutting instructions, a template for the neck, details on how to get the corners nice and crisp—it’s all there!
I can’t get over how cozy warm this knit fleece is and how stunning it looks when it’s on. It’s like wearing a blanket in public, but it’s completely acceptable, even fashionable! If you’re ready to whip one up for yourself, hop on over to my shop and either download a copy or order a hard copy and get started! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Knit Fleece (or Sweatshirt Fleece) (You could also use any of the fabrics listed above) 1-2/3 yards (45″ or 60″ wide)
- Rotary Cutter & Rotary Cutting Mat (These are very helpful, but not necessary)
- Sewing Machine
- Matching Thread
- Pins
- Iron/Ironing Board
- Fabric Scissors
- Erasable Fabric Marker
Thank you so much for your support! If you’d like to purchase a copy of this pattern, just head on over to my shop. I’m thrilled to be providing you with new, wonderful patterns every month! I’d love to see your finished wraps in the comments below!
