If you’ve been following me for the past few months, you’ll have noticed that we are gearing up for baby #2! Be it the gallery wall tutorial or the initial announcement back in October (that was a small eternity ago!), I’m just so excited to share this happy time with you. I can’t wait for the big nursery reveal and all the other exciting things I have planned for this little gal, but those will have to wait just a wee bit longer.
Today I wanted to share some of our maternity photos taken by the incredible Sara Bittner! She’s an incredible photographer that specializes in Weddings and Senior Portraits and hosts sweet mini sessions each year for families – you really should check her out if you’re in the market for an excellent wedding photographer in Pennsylvania, Maryland, or Delaware! (I’m a not-feeling-glam/8-months-pregnant subject in these photos…just imagine what she can do with a blushing bride!)
In addition to being excited about photos, I’d love to share a few thoughts with you as we look forward with expectation to this new character and new chapter before us.
It’s been a really interesting pregnancy just because of the time that we are in. I’ve learned to really depend on my husband for support – it surprised me to learn just how much support I received from my extended family and community during my last pregnancy. The isolation that COVID has brought during this time really made me feel the gravity of all the social interactions that typically into pregnancy. I’m so thankful for a supportive husband and for all the people that continue to support me virtually (not to mention the ones that come masked to stand outside of my door in below freezing temperatures for a chat…you know who you are!).
Just as all of life has seemed like a massive adjustment lately, I’m sure that this new little lady will be no different. But I welcome the change, the challenge, and am so grateful that we get to bring life into a seemingly lifeless world right now.
My last pregnancy landed us in the delivery room on Christmas Eve. I felt like God had so much for me, even down to the due date. The anticipation of a child being brought into the world combined with the good news that we celebrate every year at that time was eye opening (you can read all of my thoughts about it here). This time around, I know a bit more – I realize just how marvelous this all is – and I am so honored to get to participate in the act of creation with God. God is a lover and giver of life, and to get to do that with Him is an incredible privilege.
As our family grows and we celebrate this new, precious life, I hope that we will not forget to remember that He is the creator and giver of all good things. Life can come out of a crazy messy time and so can great joy and beauty.
So very excited for you all!!!!
