for shop owners
I’m guessing you’re here because you are curious about a little book that looks like this:

Well, I’m so glad you’re here! I always love making new quilty friends!
Let me start by telling you what Big Stitch is: Big stitch binding uses thick thread and visible stitches to secure and add a decorative touch to your quilt binding. Unlike the standard hidden binding stitches, these are meant to stand out, creating a cozy, handmade look. It’s a fun way to personalize what some consider the most grueling part of quilting (ehem…). It’s one part embroidery, one part utility.
This pocket guide is designed to help you get started with everything you need to master these bold, beautiful stitches. Inside, you’ll find inspiring images, clear stitch diagrams, and practical tips to make the process enjoyable. PLUS each stitch includes a QR code that links you directly to a video tutorial – let all the visual learners rejoice!
Let me give you the tour:

The Little Book is the perfect little thing to put near your register…just like candy at the grocery store! It goes great with Perle Cotton, and these gotta-grab-them accessories:

Supplies and Products Listed in the Book
As a shop owner, you want to know what you’re getting into. My book isn’t overly pushy about brands, but here are the supplies that I suggest and links to the wholesale sites for ordering:

SOHMO Milliner Needles
Any milliner’s needle will do, but you want something with a large eye to fit the Perle Cotton through. I like the two largest sizes in these 20-packs.

SOHMO Beeswax
Beeswax protects the thread as you work (and after). It also makes pulling the thread through a dream and reduces tangled messes!

Valdani Perle Cotton
If you haven’t tried Valdani yet, I would encourage you to. The quality is unbeatable and it is hands-down my favorite thread to work with.
NOW onto us being friends!
My name is Rachel Rossi. I’m an independent pattern designer and a fabric designer for Benartex Fabrics. I grew up in a quilt shop and am so honored to carry on my mom’s legacy in my own way. I love to connect with quilters and shop owners through my newsletter, on Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, so make sure to connect with me there!
Fabric Lines

If you’re curious about what my fabrics look like, I’d encourage you to check them out! I’m passionate about creating beautiful things AND improving the world one small step at a time. While my fabrics aren’t organic, I am proving to the world that there are creative ways to change how we produce our products to create a more positive impact on the environment and human lives.
My fabrics are printed on unbleached cotton, are OEKO-Tex Standard 100 Certified, and are digitally printed. Each of these factors was carefully considered as we created my fabric and I’m proud to say that I believe this is the first small step in the right direction.
Patterns
Before I was a fabric designer, I was a quilt pattern designer (and still am)! I have an enormous, ever-growing library full of awesome patterns (not just quilty ones), classes, threads, and notions. Make sure to stop in the shop and have a look around. Here are a few of my fan favorites:
