Who doesn’t love the Shabby Chic style? It appeals to so many users that I might consider it one of the most-loved styles of interior design (that’s right—I said it!). I think the main reason for this is that it can go in so many different directions that it can have a very different impact from one design to the next. So let’s see what I love about this style so much and why you should love it too!
“Presentation is everything!” This is something my dear friend, Gizella, always said. Whether we were carefully placing plucked mint leaves on the rim of our iced tea glasses or wrapping a gift, she was always making sure that things were “just so” and teaching me how to do the same. Today, I’m going to help you make your Christmas “just so.”
Less is more…it’s really true! Today we are going to take a good look at the minimalist design style. This is a style that I really enjoy, but until now, haven’t found that it’s attainable—I’ve already changed my own mind on that, and hopefully you’ll read on and change yours too! So here it is: minimalist interior design!
“I’m not sure what my style is. I like a little bit of everything…so I guess I’m eclectic!” Stop right there! Just because you like a lot of stuff doesn’t mean that you’re automatically part of the eclectic club! Though it seems like just a bunch of “stuff,” true eclecticism is a careful curation of that “stuff.” Let me tell you how: eclecticism takes different pieces from different styles and time periods and combines them harmoniously. It’s not knick-knacks or what you call a room that feels weird; it’s just a combination of styles into a cohesive space. How do we achieve this cohesive look? I thought you’d never ask!
