Today is the BIG day for my little book. I’m so very excited to officially present to you The Little Book of Big Stitch Binding.
This bite-sized pocket guide is the perfect companion for those of us who might not enjoy the binding process (ehem) as much as we could or are left longing for just a little something on the edges of our quilts.
When you’ve spent weeks (or months!) creating a beautiful quilt top, those borders really matter! Today I’m going to walk you through creating mitered borders – a technique that takes your quilt from homemade to professionally finished in just a few extra steps.
Mitered borders are especially perfect for striped fabrics or prints with directional patterns that you want to flow continuously around the corners. Trust me, once you try this technique, you’ll never want to go back to basic borders!
I’ve been playing with this technique off and on for a year or so now and really enjoy it! It’s great for quick quilt tops AND for kids just getting started:
Today I’m going to show you how to use fusible interfacing to piece precuts quickly & get perfect points while you’re at it! I’ve got a written tutorial AND a video tutorial for you, so whatever your learning style, you’re covered!
I (and my friends) have been working hard to bring you the Bee Haven Project Hop this week. It’s a fun event that we are throwing to celebrate the launch of my first fabric line!
If you’re following along on Instagram, make sure to follow all of the designers and tag friends for extra entries to win BIG at the end of the week (more details below). BUT FIRST, let me introduce you to my friends and my fabrics:
I am **SO** excited that you’ve decided to join me for the Sew Along! We are going to jet right through this quilt and have it ready by the first snow!
Well hello there! Today I want to bring you a post that was inspired by a sweet customer of mine. She’s a newer quilter and had a few questions on how to use ombre fabric (like the fab V & Co Fairy Dust on the cover) in her Christmas quilt. I gladly answered her email and figured since I’ve done the work already, that I’d share with you as well.
I know you aren’t supposed to have favorites, but I might need to make an exception for this fantabulous quilt…Hover is just a whole other level – I’m not sure I or my followers have ever been quite this excited for a quilt release before!
This pattern includes a wild number of sizes…I just couldn’t stop: Pillow, baby, throw, lap, twin, queen, and king (pardon me while I catch my breath!)…and today I want to show you just one more size that I couldn’t resist: the wall hanging.
Now I can’t take full credit on this, one of my incredible pattern testers and friends came up with this layout and size and even wrote out how she did it. So, a big round of applause for my pal, Jeanne.
Today I have a REALLY fun tutorial for you on how to make a pocket pillow cover in any size. It’s chock full of video, printables, exciting new patterns, and more!
In this tutorial you’ll see my up and coming pattern, Hover. I am SO thrilled to be releasing this pattern alongside of Sue Penn’s newest collection, Butterfly Fields (used in the video tutorial) in October 2023. If you’ve just got to have this pattern, or the kit, make sure to pre-order today – I don’t think they’ll last long!
Cuddle, by Shannon Fabrics, has been a long time favorite of mine. Use their luxurious double sided fabric for a Squared Fashion Wrap or slap it on the back of a quilt for the snuggliest sewing session of your life — I know, I know. BUT IT SHEDS you say!
My last blog post about our new Baby Nursery gave me the opportunity to flex my interior design muscles. I expect to get that chance once in a while, but somehow these two posts lined up right next to each other!
