Bushel & Bloom is In Season!

I am thrilled to officially say that Bushel & Bloom is hitting quilt shop shelves all over the country! There is something so special about holding a finished fabric collection in your hands after months of dreaming, sketching, and tweaking designs, and I can’t wait to share every little bit of it with you.

Tending to the Details: The Story Behind the Line

In the heart of every garden, there’s a story growing. Bushel & Bloom is an invitation to take a stroll through rows of root vegetables, rustling bean poles, and blossoms that are just beginning to unfurl.

I’ve always found so much charm in the everyday, well-worn tools that tend these green spaces—the sturdy garden shed, watering cans lined up ready for an afternoon shower, and trusty spades resting in rich soil. This collection combines joyful illustrations of garden whimsy with grounded, organic textures to celebrate that peaceful rhythm of planting, tending, and gathering.

Soft on Your Hands, Gentle on the Earth 🌿

Just like my previous collections, Bushel & Bloom is printed on 100% unbleached cotton.

If you haven’t sewn with unbleached cotton yet, you are in for such a treat! By skipping the industrial bleaching process, we save tens of thousands of gallons of water with every print run—making each yard a small act of care for our planet. Plus, it is OEKO-TEX 100 certified, sustainably produced, and has the absolute softest, silky hand feel that is dreamy to sew with and snuggle under!

And on top of all that to feel good about – just look at these sweet prints!

Speaking of Sweet Prints…

I know you’re not supposed to choose favorites, but I had to spotlight a few of these prints to show off just what they can do!

Sprout and About

This print (in green. blue and terracotta!) is fabulous for when you want a background with some design in it, but nothing that’s too distracting!

Rooting for You

What could be cuter than little veggies all lined up in a row? Little encouraging veggies all lined up in a row!

This print is not only available in this dreamy deep teal, but also a chocolate brown AND a gorgeous canvas!

YES! I said canvas! I used it in the picture below for my First Blush apron and I’m in love! The larger scale lends itself to so many sweet projects and those veggies sure are fun to fussy cut!

That Panel!

This line is meant to be completely precious in every way and it all comes together in this panel! If you love the panel but just don’t know what to do with it, grab the smaller all-over print for the most perfect backing a gardener could ask for.

The All-over Prints

When my 3 girls heard that mom was making them Bun in the Sun Visors for a photoshoot, and that THEY got to choose their fabrics from THIS line, they couldn’t get to the studio fast enough! They all went right for these sweet all-over prints and had a heck of a time narrowing down their favorites.

Terra Nova

Terra Nova means “fresh earth” and that’s exactly what these fabrics feel like!

These simple textures bring out so much richness in this line – I love how saturated and earthy at the same time they are! I used them so far as stems, roots and bricks in my Mortar & Moss quilt, pots in my Alotta Terracotta Quilt, and a whole slew of things in my Potting Table quilt…but the options with these are endless! I love these for a background that needs to be solid, but is asking for just a smidge more texture.

A Peek at What’s Coming Next…

A brand-new fabric line wouldn’t be complete without plenty of pattern inspiration! My friends and I have spent the last few months stitching up a storm to create projects specifically designed to show off these prints, as well as giving two fan-favorites a fresh new makeover.

I’ll be sharing detailed deep-dives into each pattern in their own dedicated release posts very soon, but here’s a quick teaser of what’s in store:

Alotta Terracotta

A sweet foundation paper piecing (FPP) pattern featuring cute terracotta pots that let the rich textures of the collection shine.

Bun in the Sun

A chic, wide-brimmed sun visor accessory pattern designed to keep your face shaded while keeping your messy bun free! Child and Adult sizes included in every pattern!

Mortar & Moss

Designed around the collection’s focal panel, using a fun wonky brick border to highlight the garden storytelling. Grab the free version for a simple framed panel or ugrade to paid for all the appliqué glory!

First Blush

One of my earliest pattern releases reimagined in this new garden palette AND updated from one-size-fits-all to size inclusive! Now this pattern is tailored for sizes XS-3X.

Potting Table

My MVP Block of the Month returns with a fresh Bushel & Bloom colorway, guiding you through FPP, curved piecing, turned-edge appliqué, and bias tape appliqué!

Keep your eyes on the blog over the coming weeks as we take a closer look at each of these projects, complete with pattern details, fabric pulls, and tester showcases!
