How to make a quilt label video tutorial

Today is a special day.

Yes, yes, it’s just another tutorial…

I love being able to interact with you like you’re in the studio sewing with me. I’m excited to see what you guys think and get started on more video tutorial projects! (Continue reading…)

I can’t believe it’s over.

I’ve been dedicating every second to Quilt Market (and Festival) for at least 6 months, and just like that, it’s over!

I know how huge of a support system you guys are for me and you’re probably wondering how it went. So I’m here today to tell you (unfiltered) and to let you in on what is coming down the line for me! (Continue reading…)

How to make a portable quilt design wall

We’ve all been there—you get to the end of a long sewing day, workshop, or guild project. You’ve laid out all your blocks perfectly, and despite your best efforts not to be a Chatty Cathy, your quilt is still in pieces. You try your best to stack and label them, but we all know that your beautifully organized piles won’t stay that way for long. What to do? (Continue reading…)

I know you’ve all been enjoying my Summer of Inspiration Blog series, but I thought this might be a good time to update you on what I’ve been up to! As you probably already heard, I’ve just added three pretty giant shows to my fall schedule. I’m also working on two brand new designs (one is in testing and one is still in the writing phase) that I really think you’re going to love. Somewhere in this mix I also found myself making a new friend with Jacqui, the incredible owner of Sew Jersey. (Continue reading…)

Through the Woods Paper Pieced Quilt

It’s finally here!!

I’m so incredibly excited to present to you my newest design: Through the Woods.

This paper pieced quilt pattern has certainly been a labor of love, but every stitch was totally worth it! Before I even get started on all the details, I want to say thank you to all the pattern testers who made one (some made two already) top to make this an amazing pattern. Your feedback and input is priceless and helps make a great pattern for other quilters.

How to quilt with a double needle

Today is a fun little post with a new idea! You may have seen the quilting detail in my Baby Doll Quilt pattern, and I’d love to share this new idea with you today. And don’t forget, you can get the Baby Doll Quilt pattern for free in my shop! Now, onto quilting…

A few months at my Modern Quilt Guild meeting, my friend, L, showed off her most recent finish, a bag! I fell in love with this bag and especially fell in love with the quilted detail on the top. I wondered what it might look like to quilt with a double needle, so I gave it a try on my baby doll quilt…my little niece, G, wouldn’t mind an experiment if it went wrong! (Continue reading…)

10 things that you want to make sure you do when you label your quilts.

It’s finally here—you’ve finished your quilt! The binding is on and it’s ready for gifting or snuggling. Then you realize you forgot to label your masterpiece, and you just can’t bare to add one more stitch…Oh, I’ll get to it later, you think to yourself.

Yeah, right!

I come from a family of quilters, and the passing down of the tradition is obviously of huge importance to me. My grandmother, mother, aunts, and myself all quilt. I can fully imagine a day where my great-great grandchildren are digging through old boxes and wondering which quilts came from who and when they were made. I can imagine this and a million other scenarios where it would have been well worth my while to to take an extra ten minutes and sew on a label. (Continue reading…)
