Today is finally the day!
For the past several weeks, an incredibly talented group of designers has been quietly creating projects with my newest Benartex fabric collection, Winter Haven. Today I’m thrilled to share them with you as we kick off our annual Winter Haven Project Hop!
One of my favorite parts of designing fabric is seeing what happens after it leaves my studio. Every maker notices something different. One person sees a cozy holiday quilt. Another imagines a beautiful table runner, a practical tote bag, or even a gift you’ll use year after year.
That’s exactly what this hop is about.
If you’ve ever wondered just how many different ways one fabric collection can be used, you’re in the right place.
If you’re new here, a project hop is a week-long (or in this case, slightly longer!) celebration where different makers share projects made with the same fabric collection. It’s always one of my favorite things to see—because every maker brings a completely different perspective to the fabric.
About Winter Haven
Winter Haven was inspired by the quiet magic of winter.
It’s the peaceful hush after a fresh snowfall. Deer wandering through the trees. Tiny mushrooms tucked beneath evergreen branches. Warm mugs of tea. Handmade gifts wrapped with care. The slower pace that invites us to gather around a sewing machine and create something meaningful.

The collection combines rich woodland greens, soft neutrals, berry reds, warm golds, icy blues, and cozy textures that feel equally at home in holiday projects or quilts you’ll enjoy all winter long.
Whether you’re making something festive or something timeless, I hope these fabrics inspire you to slow down and savor the season.
Meet the Makers
Each maker has created something unique—from quilts to bags—and every project highlights a different side of the Winter Haven fabrics.

Katie Mae Quilts

Oh What Fun! Mini Quilt
Katie kicks things off with a cheerful holiday mini quilt that uses her scrappy alphabet to spell out a festive greeting. It’s playful, modern, and the perfect way to welcome the season.
Rachel Rossi Design

Understory
Inspired by the woodland floor beneath towering evergreens, Understory celebrates the little details that often go unnoticed—ferns, mushrooms, and the quiet beauty hidden beneath the trees.
This quilt is actually based on a block of the month, but I’m calling it a “bit” of the month – just enough to keep you busy and your quilt progressing over 9 months!
Bre T Quilt Designs

Quilted Casserole Hot Pad
One of my favorite things about this hop is seeing projects beyond quilts. Bre created a beautiful quilted casserole carrier that’s as practical as it is pretty—perfect for holiday gatherings and homemade gifts.
Everyday Quilts

Windy City Quilt
A modern quilt that lets the Winter Haven fabrics shine with bold movement and clean lines.
Everyday Stitches is giving away a copy of this pattern AND the templates you need to make it – make sure to enter all week long for more chances to win!
Rachel Rossi Design

Near & Deer
If there was ever a quilt made specifically for Winter Haven, this might be it. Featuring woodland deer framed by pieced evergreens, it’s become one of my favorite quilts I’ve ever designed.
Create with Claudia

Festive Table Runner
Claudia proves that you don’t need to make an entire quilt to enjoy a new fabric collection. Her elegant table runner brings Winter Haven right to the center of your holiday table.
Sew Cute and Quirky

Tabitha Tote
Holiday sewing isn’t just about decorations! Brianna’s roomy Tabitha Tote is perfect for carrying gifts, projects, or even organizing wrapping supplies all season long.
Rachel Rossi Design

Merry Mixer
A playful holiday quilt full of cheerful movement that’s just as fun to sew as it is to display every December.
Shadow Valley Quilts

Northern Glow
Lisa transformed her beautiful Northern Glow pattern into a stunning holiday table topper. The geometric design pairs beautifully with Winter Haven’s woodland prints.
Slightly Biased Quilts

Starlit Night
A beautiful quilt inspired by winter skies and sparkling stars—proof that Winter Haven isn’t just for holiday sewing.
