We all know that I’m totally obsessed with Amy Friend’s By Hand collection. I used it in my Bloctopus quilt and jumped at the chance when my friends over at Benartex asked if I’d be interested in using it again.
I was asked to create a small project that showed off Amy’s beautiful work, and I really couldn’t resist using the whole spectrum of fabrics. I’m a sucker for ROYGBV and these fabrics just flow so nicely into each other.
(Continue reading…)We recently got a ***brand new*** Hobby Lobby nearby.
My sister and I used to drive at least 45 minutes with 3 littles in the back seat to get there.
Now we just stroll right on over whenever we get the chance…let’s just say it’s a game changer.
So, as I was strolling through my friendly neighborhood Hobby Lobby, I noticed the overwhelming amount of Christmas decorations made of PomPoms…I’m talking ornaments, trees, garlands, pillows…you name it!
But the prices were OUTRAGEOUS. So, I carted myself and my little crafty baby over to the kids section and started throwing PomPoms in my cart. (Continue reading…)
Isn’t it just the best when there’s a pattern that you can use in more than one way!?
I discovered the beauty of this with my Squared Fashion Wrap, originally created for the chilly winter months. I then realized with a different fabric, it’s perfect for a beach cover up!
…but enough about that, it’s chilly for now, so let’s focus on the bitter cold blast that’s coming our way. (Continue reading…)
The big reveal is finally here! That’s right—the wee babe is almost 2 months old and I’m just waiting until now to show you her lovely little nursery. It’s like newborns take over your life or something…
But really, we are so excited to finally be able to hold our little ladybug and we thoroughly enjoy every sweet moment we get with her. This nursery was certainly a labor of love, and I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with her and now you too! So here it is: our Hot Air Balloon Nursery… (Continue reading…)
Today is a show-and-tell sort of day! I’ve finally finished up reworking my Hoosier find (more like a steal) that I told you all about way back in the summer. I’ve long dreamed about turning a Hoosier—I guess mine is technically a Dutch Kitchen (we’ve always called it a Hoosier)—into a changing table, and I can’t believe I made it happen! I’m going to show you how I updated this antique piece to be a fully functioning changing table and share all the sweet little details hidden inside: (Continue reading…)
Tis the season for snugly sweaters, hot chocolate, and Holiday Home Tours! I’m number 3 on this blog hop, so make sure to check out Moriah’s gorgeous apartment, Megan’s place, and then stay tuned for different homes all week! Now, onto our humble abode…
Despite the madness that is the holiday season, and preparing for baby Rossi (1 month to go!), I’ve managed to get everything decorated on time this year. Nothing like a little home tour to get you moving!
Growing up, Christmas morning had a certain routine…a slow, relaxed, and perfectly wonderful routine. The morning always started with unpacking our drooping stockings—filled with lots of candy, fun little gifts, and of course; an orange in the toe!
Stockings are one of those things that really represent the Christmas season to me—it wouldn’t be complete without them! Although my family doesn’t have the beautifully knit stockings that we had growing up (hand made by my grandmother), we’ve got some pretty sweet stockings that I whipped up myself from fabric! With our little girl making her arrival right around the holiday season, I wanted to make sure that she had her own stocking, just incase she decides to show up early. (Continue reading…)
Rolling shades are one of the most cost-effective ways to cover your windows…especially if they came with your house. As we are getting closer to finishing up the nursery, I realized that although I have adorable curtains (check out my curtain tutorial here, if you missed it—they are adorable!), the white vinyl roller shades are not très magnifique. I didn’t want to dump anymore money into this nursery project, so I found a way to update 3 of my window coverings, re-use the shades, and spend about $15! To get the full tutorial on how I updated these tired old shades, read on! (Continue reading…)
Nine weeks away from meeting our little one, and things are finally starting to take shape in the nursery! I’ve been paining over how to decorate over our babe’s crib for weeks now & finally got it (halfway) figured out! While I’m still debating what to do with the slender shelf that runs along the wall, I’ve got the perfect solution for what is below that shelf! Today I’m going to show you how I made my own fabulous DIY Map Wall Art & how you can too! (Continue reading…)
Last time that you got a Bumpdate, I had just cleared the 20 week mark and was tickled pink about our little baby girl. I can’t believe that it’s already been 2 months since that post! And that little bump has really grown! I’m already so proud of my little peanut, just for growing like she should…it doesn’t take much apparently. Other than cooking up one of the most complex organisms on the earth in my own body—I’ve been really busy with things! My due date of January 3 seems to be only days away and there’s still so much to do! The nursery is well under way with new windows, curtains, changing table, and piles of clothes—let me tell you all about it! (Continue reading…)
