
This year was a big UFO (Unfinished Objects) year for me. It’s something that I find a lot of quilters struggle with…probably because fabric is so addictive!
In 2019, I went on a UFO attack (read about it here), and I think it was the start of something really really good for me!

It doesn’t take long once you know me until you realize that I really like getting organized.
August is here—and I’m already ashamed that I haven’t yet started a Christmas Quilt, or my nephew’s quilt for his birthday (in October!). Somehow, these big events that come around every year surprise us. We then find ourselves up until all hours of the night sewing, ripping out, and mumbling a few select words. Then off to the longarmers to beg a rush job on this particular project! I always think that I’m going to be right on schedule with my projects, but then life gets in the way—every time! Today I’d like to share a few tips with you on when to start quilting and sewing projects so that you meet your deadlines! 
After Christmas, all hope was lost. All the peace on earth came to a screeching halt when you got to my kitchen. My new bread maker sat in the middle of the counter, my tea drawer was bursting at the seams, spices were falling out of the spice cabinet—I’ve been putting off reorganizing the kitchen for a while, but there was no putting it off now. Reorganizing takes a lot of time and effort, but with these few tips and tricks, it’s totally worth it. Your kitchen will feel like new and cooking might not continue to be the bane of your existence—well, that part might still be true.
