On the Way to Cape May is a beautiful patten that uses a never-ending panel…so what happens when your quilt shop gets excited and chops up that never-ending panel for precuts?!
It’s time for your friendly neighborhood designer to step in and lend a hand!
I (and my friends) have been working hard to bring you the Bee Haven Project Hop this week. It’s a fun event that we are throwing to celebrate the launch of my first fabric line!
If you’re following along on Instagram, make sure to follow all of the designers and tag friends for extra entries to win BIG at the end of the week (more details below). BUT FIRST, let me introduce you to my friends and my fabrics:
I’ve had this pattern floating around in my mind for YEARS and it’s patterns like these that are the most exciting to release into the world…because it’s been hidden for so long!
The best part about this pattern? There are two BIG freebies that come along with it, so let’s check it out!
Big Stitch Binding is my new favorite thing! The best part is that there are only a few supplies needed to get started! From there, use your favorite embroidery stitches or a simple running stitch to add this loving detail to your quilt bindings.
If this is your first time sewing with Shorthand Templates, I suggest practicing a few from start to finish before batch-making them as I show in my videos below (if you haven’t cut yours out yet, see the post from last week here). The key to creating these blocks isn’t necessarily doing them exactly how I’m doing them, but being consistent with how you choose to create them!
Today I have a quick and easy tutorial that you can apply to almost any quilt! I want to talk about how to piece your borders on an angle. While this might be old news to some of you, others may be asking
how to piece those borders without drawing attention to the join. Lucky for those others, I have your answers and it takes only a second longer than piecing it straight.
This month I have the privilege of being the featured designer over at Cotton Cuts. This means that Cotton Cuts subscribers will get a little card with my smiling face on it this month and get to choose one of four of my favorite patterns to add to their subscription this month!
Well hello there! Today I want to bring you a post that was inspired by a sweet customer of mine. She’s a newer quilter and had a few questions on how to use ombre fabric (like the fab V & Co Fairy Dust on the cover) in her Christmas quilt. I gladly answered her email and figured since I’ve done the work already, that I’d share with you as well.
Foundation paper piecing has become one of my very favorite techniques for quilting. I love the precision and the freedom that it allows! Ever since discovering how to paper piece with freezer paper (see that tutorial here) I’ve fallen even more deeply in love.
And now, it’s time for the part that almost broke us…but love overcame!
I know you aren’t supposed to have favorites, but I might need to make an exception for this fantabulous quilt…Hover is just a whole other level – I’m not sure I or my followers have ever been quite this excited for a quilt release before!
This pattern includes a wild number of sizes…I just couldn’t stop: Pillow, baby, throw, lap, twin, queen, and king (pardon me while I catch my breath!)…and today I want to show you just one more size that I couldn’t resist: the wall hanging.
Now I can’t take full credit on this, one of my incredible pattern testers and friends came up with this layout and size and even wrote out how she did it. So, a big round of applause for my pal, Jeanne.
Today I have a REALLY fun tutorial for you on how to make a pocket pillow cover in any size. It’s chock full of video, printables, exciting new patterns, and more!
In this tutorial you’ll see my up and coming pattern, Hover. I am SO thrilled to be releasing this pattern alongside of Sue Penn’s newest collection, Butterfly Fields (used in the video tutorial) in October 2023. If you’ve just got to have this pattern, or the kit, make sure to pre-order today – I don’t think they’ll last long!
