This month I have the privilege of being the featured designer over at Cotton Cuts. This means that Cotton Cuts subscribers will get a little card with my smiling face on it this month and get to choose one of four of my favorite patterns to add to their subscription this month!
Well hello there! Today I want to bring you a post that was inspired by a sweet customer of mine. She’s a newer quilter and had a few questions on how to use ombre fabric (like the fab V & Co Fairy Dust on the cover) in her Christmas quilt. I gladly answered her email and figured since I’ve done the work already, that I’d share with you as well.
Foundation paper piecing has become one of my very favorite techniques for quilting. I love the precision and the freedom that it allows! Ever since discovering how to paper piece with freezer paper (see that tutorial here) I’ve fallen even more deeply in love.
And now, it’s time for the part that almost broke us…but love overcame!
I know you aren’t supposed to have favorites, but I might need to make an exception for this fantabulous quilt…Hover is just a whole other level – I’m not sure I or my followers have ever been quite this excited for a quilt release before!
This pattern includes a wild number of sizes…I just couldn’t stop: Pillow, baby, throw, lap, twin, queen, and king (pardon me while I catch my breath!)…and today I want to show you just one more size that I couldn’t resist: the wall hanging.
Now I can’t take full credit on this, one of my incredible pattern testers and friends came up with this layout and size and even wrote out how she did it. So, a big round of applause for my pal, Jeanne.
Today I have a REALLY fun tutorial for you on how to make a pocket pillow cover in any size. It’s chock full of video, printables, exciting new patterns, and more!
In this tutorial you’ll see my up and coming pattern, Hover. I am SO thrilled to be releasing this pattern alongside of Sue Penn’s newest collection, Butterfly Fields (used in the video tutorial) in October 2023. If you’ve just got to have this pattern, or the kit, make sure to pre-order today – I don’t think they’ll last long!
Bias is sometimes a scary word to quilters, but it doesn’t have to be! In this post I want to give you some good resources on cutting bias tape and using a bias tape maker. I hope to be adding videos as I create them, so if you have a new bias question, be sure to check back soon!
Printing digital quilting and sewing patterns is one of the most fun (and instant!) ways to get your projects going. BUT you MUST know how to print to scale before you get started or you’re going to end up looking like this:

Today I’ve got a short tutorial for you on French Seams. I’ve decided to post this because I recently created a new sample for my Squared pattern and there miiiiggggghhhhhtttt be something rather exciting coming your way next month (shhhhh! don’t tell, but IT’S A RE-RELEASE! New style options and sizes for minis and mommies alike!)
Today has been a long time coming! I actually released this pattern in my shop MONTHS ago, but with a new baby on board, this beauty missed it’s official pattern release. So today I am proud to present to you (again):
Quilt guilds are all about fostering creativity, building community, and sharing the love of quilting. But let’s face it—sometimes the same old activities can feel a bit, well, stale. If you’re looking to shake things up and bring fresh, fun, and engaging ideas to your quilt guild meetings, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve got some activities that will make every gathering something to look forward to!
