Today is the day!

I’m so excited to finally share the patterns and projects created for my newest fabric collection, Winter Haven. This collection has been living in my head (and sketchbooks…and fabric swatches…and piles of quilt blocks 😅) for such a long time, and seeing it all come together feels a little surreal. Inspired by quiet winter woods,
woodland creatures, snowy mushrooms, and cozy evergreen forests, this line was designed to capture the peaceful magic of winter without feeling overly “holiday.”
There’s something about winter that makes the world feel softer and quieter. The crunch of snow under your boots. Bare branches against a dusky sky. Tiny pops of red berries and cardinals in an otherwise sleepy landscape. That’s the feeling I wanted to bring into this collection.
About the Fabric Line
Winter Haven is printed on unbleached cotton and produced with sustainability in mind—something that continues to be deeply important to me as I create these collections. By skipping the bleaching process, tens of thousands of gallons of water are saved during production, and the fabrics remain wonderfully soft with a natural warmth that fits this collection perfectly. The line is also OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.

The palette combines woodland reds, pine greens, twilight blues, warm neutrals, and soft snowy tones. I wanted these fabrics to feel cozy and timeless while still giving you enough contrast and movement to make really dynamic quilts.

And yes…there are mushrooms. Lots of mushrooms. 🍄

I have to pause a moment and give credit to my oldest daughter for inpiring this whimical mushroom theme- she created her own quilt design (featuring red-capped mushrooms) over a year ago and I couldn’t get it out of my head!
It’s such a gift to be inspired by my children. I’ll tell you more about her project in another post – but for now, I wanted to be sure to give her the credit for inspiring me so well!
New Patterns for Winter Haven
One of my favorite parts of releasing a fabric line is dreaming up the patterns that will bring it to life. This collection inspired some of my favorite quilt designs yet. Each of these patterns will be getting their day in the sun with their own blog post, but here is a sneak peek for each!
Near & Deer

Near & Deer creates a peaceful woodland scene featuring a doe (or fawn!) standing among birch trees while bright cardinals add little moments of color throughout the quilt. It feels storybook-ish in the very best way and honestly captures the heart of this collection perfectly.
This quilt was one of those designs that came together almost exactly how I imagined it in my head—which almost never happens. 😂
Merry Mixer

Merry Mixer is the quick-and-cozy quilt of the collection. It’s beginner friendly, fast to sew, and such a fun way to showcase favorite fabrics. The design has a lot of movement without becoming complicated, which makes it a really satisfying project whether you want a fast finish or a large statement quilt.
I’m offering the baby size as a free pattern download, and there’s also an expanded paid version with additional sizes if you want to make a bigger quilt.
And if you think this design looks familiar, you’re right! This is a re-release of one of my very first patterns. I’ve updated the pattern to include more sizes and a little more detail on the construction of the quilt.
Oh, Tannenbaum!

This pattern got a fresh new life with Winter Haven fabrics. I love that it nods to winter trees and evergreens while still feeling modern and geometric instead of overtly Christmas-themed.
If you love midcentury-modern shapes and cozy winter decor, this one might be your match.
Understory Block of the Month

And then there’s Understory…my whimsical mushroom-filled Block of the Month program that might secretly be my favorite thing I’ve designed in a while. 😍
This 9-month project is full of layered woodland details, playful mushrooms, and cozy forest textures. We’ll officially begin a sew along in Summer 2026, and I cannot wait to make this together with all of you.

New Coordinates for Winter Haven
I’ve been coming up with all of the components for your quilt from start to finish, and I must say that you’ve all been loving my designer thread sets and Edge to Edge designs! So, I’ve created two new coordinating products for this line:
Thread Set

I’ve created this delightful set of 6 variegated Valdani Threads to finish off your Winter Haven projects. Perfect for Big Stitch Binding, or whatever you come up with!
Why Winter Haven Feels So Special to Me
Every fabric line tells a story, but this one feels especially personal.

I think a lot of us crave quiet right now. We crave softness. Slower moments. Things that feel grounded and comforting…and maybe something a little whimsical. Winter Haven became my way of stitching those feelings into fabric.
There’s also something really meaningful to me about creating fabrics that celebrate nature while trying—in even a small way—to care for it through more sustainable production choices. That mission has become part of the heart of my work, and I’m incredibly grateful that so many of you have embraced it alongside me.
Coming Soon to Shops
Winter Haven is shipping NOW, so keep an eye out at your favorite local quilt shops!
If your shop doesn’t have it yet, now is a great time to ask them to carry it. And if you’re a shop owner, wholesale ordering information for both fabric and patterns can be found here.
I truly cannot wait to see what you create with these fabrics. Whether you turn them into quilts, garments, bags, pillows, or something completely unexpected, I hope Winter Haven brings a little warmth and wonder into your sewing room this season. Make sure to send me a picture or tag me with your finished project!
